Why the PDF menu has to go
A PDF menu is easy to upload and hard to live with. It opens slowly on a phone, people have to pinch and zoom, search engines read little of it, and nobody updates it when a price changes. Six months later the site lists a dish you dropped in spring. A menu built as text on the page fixes all of that, and it takes less time to edit than making a new PDF.
How editing works
We set up the menu in sections with dishes, prices, short descriptions and dietary tags. Whoever runs the menu gets a login and a one-page guide. Changing a price, adding a special or marking a dish sold out for the night takes a minute from a phone. If you run more than one menu, such as lunch, dinner and brunch, or one per location, each gets its own section and its own times.
- Dietary tags such as vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free, using the words you choose
- A specials block you can switch on and off without touching the rest of the menu
- Seasonal dishes you can hide and bring back next year
- Prices shown or left off, your call
- A print-friendly version for the front counter, generated from the same menu
Ordering, delivery and gift card links
Most restaurants already use at least one tool for pickup orders and one or more delivery apps. We don't replace any of them. We put one clear Order button on every page, and when you use several tools we show them as a short, honest choice: pickup direct from us, or delivery through the apps you list. If your ordering tool supports links straight to a menu or a location, we use them, so people land on the right page with one tap.
Ordering windows often differ from dining room hours, like the middle ring on the wheel above. The site can show both, so nobody tries to order pickup ten minutes after the kitchen stops taking online orders.
Link checks
Ordering links break more often than you'd think: a tool changes its addresses, a location is renamed, or an account is closed. Before launch we test every link on a phone, and a care arrangement can repeat that check every month.
Questions
Can the menu sync with our point-of-sale system?
Some ordering and point-of-sale tools offer a menu feed or an embeddable menu. We check what yours supports during the quote and tell you plainly whether a sync is worth the setup.
We change the menu every week. Is that a problem?
No. Weekly changes are what the editor is built for. We can also set up a dated specials section so last week's dishes drop off on their own.
